Club houseThis a rough outline of events on route to getting New Changing Rooms with Toilets at our Home ground

August 2007
Proposed at FC Highnam meeting to look into the possibility of building brick Changing rooms at Oakbank to replace old Portacabin thats already there.

December 2007
Rough Plans drawn up to outline building - sumitted to Tewks Bo Council.

December 2007
The architect looked at the ways and means of getting Electricity and Water to the Building. Searches sent off to Tewks Council.

January 2008
Sketches came back with the outline of nearest Electric and water supply - A long way down the pathway opposite the Bus stop.- Moling a trench may be needed to get the supply to the field.

February 2008
Parents were asked to submit to the clubs Sec - Comments to help with proposed funding applications to FA and Councils i.e Good points and Bad Points about the club. It seems that Changing Room / Tea Making Facilities were top of the Parents moan list... (Thanks to all those who bothered)

March 2008
A tree report was requested by Tewks Council,(because we have to mole a trench) A specialist has issued a report and the report has been submitted to Tewkesbury Council. One local resident has raised issues about near by trees.

April / May 2008
Phil Taylor - FC Highnam Chairman informs the club that the Planning application has been submitted with all the relevant reports to Tewks Bo Council.

June 2008
At the clubs AGM - Phil Taylor informed the commitee that the Planning Application had been submitted and that we were waiting for the approval from the Council. Once this has been passed then FC Highnam can contact the various Organisations to Claim Grants i.e Lottery Funding and FA Grass Roots Grants. It was discussed at the meeting, that may be a sub commitee away from the Managers may be formed to push for raising of funds to help with the build.

July 08
Planning has now been Granted to the Club to erect the New Changing Rooms. Tendering Invitations will be sent out to prospective Building Companies for prices for the main Build.

August 2008
Tenders for the building work have been sent out. The club to apply for Chartered Standard status which will enable us to acquire grants off the Football Foundation. Estimated Build cost £85.000 A fund raising commitee may be elected after christams to help raise monies for the build.

November 2008
4 Tenders have been sent out to local building companies - 3 have submitted their costing which have all been over the expected limit of 85k. 3 others companies will be approached in due course.

Feb 09
Now that all tenders have been received for the building work of the New Changing Rooms. The Clubs Charter Mark is only a tick and dot away - This means that the club has a stronger chance of securing an application for funding through the Football Association ( Grassroots level ) along with Lottery Grants,Local Parish Council and Tewkesbury Council funding,These will be applied for in order to raise the monies to help build the changing rooms.
The next step as a footall club is to form a fund raising committee to help raise funds to support our bid to get money.

If any parent who would like to help / donate or expresses a wish to join a fund raising committee please contact Alistair Bickley the Clubs Secretary (contact details on the Club House page).

October 2009
A couple of Grant applications have been submitted to various organisations like ( The Playing Fields Association) at this moment in time 1 application has failed due to high number of subscribers,
The Clubs Charter Standard award is just around the corner, this will open up other avenues of grants possibilities.

Next step will be to form a Fund Raising Committee will be the next step to help raise extra money for the Club.

January 2010

The changing Room Project has hit the cross road in terms of were we go from here. The Build is looking to be at least £140k .. Funding may be sourced to help with achieving towards this amount , But Funding Councils and Committees would like to see an input of money from the club itself.

The Club (FC Highnam) once it has secured Charter Status which will be in the coming months, will be pushing for funding in various avenues:

Tewkesbury Bo Council -The Council have been approached and the club has been told there are No funds available for any sports project .This may be in light that they have helped with funding of the New playground on the field.

The Playing Fields Association - They were willing to help with a Fund raising plan, but again there were No Funds Available to help with the project .

Sports England and the National lottery are the next targets - It would be a good idea to wait until we are Charter Marked this would help our case a lot.

Companies - High street companies like Lloyd's Bank / McDonald's / Asda / Tesco etc are possible targets in the near future.

It was brought up at the Committee Meeting that a Fund Raising Committee may be started up with a sole aim of raising our share of the money through - sponsor swims / discos / quiz nights / fun days etc.. A News letter asking for willing helpers may be the next step ..

A diary of planned events will be published to keep everyone informed.

March 2010
A Meeeting was held and a plenty of people attended with fund raising ideas .. Future Events like a Rock & Curry night / Swindon Dogs / even a Metal Detecting weekend are planned.

Charter Standard is just a pen stroke away then the serious applications can start to begin.
A Football Foundation Representative as advise that we change over the pitch format to obtain maximum funding levels.

April / May 2010

Charter Standard Club Status achieved by the club

June 2010

Finally - Tewkesbury Borough Council grant the Building project a Massive £65.000 donation.

This money is followed by some fund raising events that boost the coffers of the club. The Rock and Curry night / Auction  = £2.000 raised

Several Local Companies have been approached and to date £2.000 have been donated to help the clubs building funds.

Sept 2010

The Football Foundation have been approached for grants - They have visited the site and will be advising the club of their donation in due course.

A Biffa Award scheme has been applied for and we are now into the second stage of their donation procedure.

Future things planned are a Sponsored Swim - called `Swim the Channel Challenge `. Details will be available soon.

Further information to follow in due course
