Match Report

FC Highnam 3 - 1 Abbeymead (11 Dec 11)

After a coule of outstanding recent performances we end 2011 with a solid home win against Abbeymead. During the first half we domiated play and should have been well ahead at the break with chance after chance not being converted. It's often the case that when you fail to take your chances  - you've already let the other team back into the game and when Abbeymead equalised early in the 2nd half we had that feeling. We changed a couple of things - and quickly got our just deserts with two further goals that put as 3-1 ahead. We could and should have extended the league but their excellent keeper kept the score closer than the game really was. This was a very good game against a strong team who never gave up, but we kept believing in our ability & it paid off. Goal scorers were Taylor, Jake & Harrison.
