10th Sept 2011 - Longlevens Infants Greens vs FC Highnam
Result: Longlevens Infants Greens 0 FC Highnam 4
Squad: Dom, Oscar, Konrad, Haydn, Harry, Koebee, Cam, Adam, Byron.
Match Report:
FC Highnam started the match brightly and were a goal up in the first few minutes, with Harry scoring from close range.
The highnam boys settled well and controlled the game limiting the Longelevens Greens to playing on the break.
However the Greens did cause a few concerns on the break until Highnam created a bit of dalylight between the teams with a second goal.
The second goal was scored by Cam Dadge, who had an impressive game up front linking well with the midfield and causing havoc amongst the opposition defence.
Oscar and Konrad were solid in defence and Dom played well in goal. Oscar's communication was excellent to maintain the defensive line and Konrad was as always strong and determined in the tackle.
Dom's distribution from goal was impressive with excellent kicking from hand and working well with the defence for short goal kicks. The midfield of Harry, Koebee and Adam linked well pressing the opposition especially for goal kicks. Koebee played a key role in the centre of midfield and Adam was effective on the left.
Hignham continued to press in the second half and again took control in midfield with Haydn making excellent runs down the left and Harry covering every blade of grass.
This resulted in two quality goals. A corner from Harry was expertly finished by Haydn with a glancing header which left the keeper for dead.
Then Byron "Messi" Bickley scored the goal of the game. He collected the ball in midfield and started a mazy run going past four Greens players before confidently slotting the ball past the keeper.
All the Highnam boys played extremely well. The use of rolling subs allowed everyone to play their part.
Longlevens Greens played their part in the game and gave the Highnam boys a good game. Their goalkeeper was impressive throughout and Longlevens still continued to play well on the break in the second half.

3rd Sept 2011 - FC Highnam vs Hardwicke Rangers
Result: FC Highnam 0 Hardwicke Rangers 6
Squad: Dom, Oscar, Konrad, Haydn, Harry, Koebee, Cam, Adam, Byron.
Match Report:
FC Highnam began the start of their league campaign with a tough home fixture against Hardwick Rangers.
The boys started brightly playing up hill but were set back by an early Hardwicke goal.
Highnam battled hard against a very good Hardwicke team, Oscar and Konrad were kept busy at the back and the midfiled trio of Harry, Koebee and Haydn were made to work very hard tracking back to defend. Cam was made to poach on scraps up front. However the Highnam boys still posed a threat going forward with good work, linking well up the flanks. But it was Hardwicke that took their chances with good interplay up front and went into the break leading 4 goals to nil.
Highnam battled hard in the second half with every boy playing their part. Hardwicke remained dangerous going forward but Konrad and Oscar defended
well at the back and Dom with making some excellent saves and blocks in goal. Byron looked sprightly upfront and the midfield enjoyed more success going forward down the hill. This resulted in more pressure from Highnam which created a number of chances. Harry shot just wide from distance, Haydn hit the post from a corner and Oscar went close after a good run. Koebee and Adam also played a key role in midfield, defending well when necessary but also linking
well and making some great passes. However Hardwicke's good interplay and speed going forward resulted in two more goals, with the final score a 6 - 0 win for Hardwicke.
Highnam however battled hard throughout the game and were unlucky not to come away with a goal. The Highnam team can be proud of their play against a strong Hardwicke team.
